Bonding is the application of tooth-coloured composite resins to repair decayed, chipped, fractured teeth, to make them appear longer, to close spaces in between or to generally change their shape. Sometimes bonding is used to protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed as a result of gum recession.
